This notice announces an immediate change in the way patent examiners will assess whether inventions are for patentable subject matter. The change results from the recent judgment of the Court of Appeal in the matters of Aerotel Ltd v Telco Holdings Ltd and Macrossan's Application [2006] EWCA Civ 1371 (236Kb) (Aerotel/Macrossan).
