Some of the exclusions from patentability in section 1(2) of the Patents Act, and the case law surrounding it, were considered by the Court of Appeal in Fujitsu Limited's Application [1997] R.P.C. 608. In his judgment in that case, Aldous L.J. stated at page 614, lines 40–46.
